Description

FAM Dichlorotriazine is an inactive form of a bright green fluorescent dye used to generate stable fluorescence signals in bioimaging. It is characterized by relatively high absorption, good fluorescence quantum yield and good water solubility. The maximum of the Ex/Em values is at 494/519 nm, which is similar to the values of Alexa 488 and Cy2. FAM can be excited using a 488 nm laser line and exhibits excellent optical properties. In addition to relatively high absorptivity, good fluorescence quantum yield and good water solubility, FAM has an excitation maximum that closely matches the 488 nm spectral line of the argon-ion laser.
